What is MLA?
MLA which is short for Modern Language Association of America and also called the Modern Language Association. It was founded in 1883 by Aaron Marshall Elliott and now Simon Gikandi is the president of MLA. It is a nonprofit organization.The association is spread over 100 plus countries. The number of members in the association is exceeding 25,000. The members are the people who teach or learn English and some other languages. There are scholars, academics and students who are part of the association.
It was founded in the United States, with offices in New York City. But now it has reached the international platform in terms of the influence and impacts it has on the academic community.

What does MLA do? Manuals, Journals, Styles
MLA Handbook is also an endeavor of MLA which has sold over 6,500,000 copies worldwide and is oriented toward the undergraduates and high school students. Its 8th edition is the latest one which was published in 2016. The MLA created the database which is provided online. MLA International Bibliography is the name of the database and it is now considered the standard bibliography in language and literature. The MLA Style Manual consists of MLS format guidelines which guide students who wanna publish essays or research articles. In 2016 September its 3rd edition went out of print.
